| 2009 variety of WOCE style drifters includes seven different buoys. Each buoy has flexible structure of technical parameters that allows building of the device according to specification of potential customer to be used for different goals of operational oceanography and hydrometeorology. This generation of drifters takes into account and uses an experience of last buoys evaluation in-situ to have the tool with higher reliability and larger set of data, which can be measured in water and atmosphere. All the buoys are equipped with Real Time Clock to have synchronous samples at round hours according to the WMO requirements. Due to the choice of a customer, the buoys can be build for data transferring via Argos-2 or Iridium communication links and provide the Doppler or/and GPS locations. |
